Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 studio albums. DiFranco categorizes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. However, it contains influences such as hip-hop, punk and jazz. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement being one of the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were each attending. Her father is Italian heritage, while her mother comes from Montreal. Ani's song, 32 Flavors, was composed by her and is performed by Ani. The song is featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. The song's version is featured on the 1999 Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was announced that she would be hosting the three-day workshop on the Louisiana plantation for slaves. The event was cancelled however, certain (including the media) failed to consider it a gesture of regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology only a few days following. She is known for her Little Folksinger songs, however she's collaborated with many music genres, that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. She is a resident of New Orleans. Ani diFranco, and Kristen Ford are together. At 14, she began to compose her own music. They were performed in coffee shops and bars throughout her teenage years. DiFranco attended Buffalo State College after graduating at 16 from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's custom Alvarez baritone was the result of numerous consultations with Chrys Johnson, who was the representative for artist Alvarez.
